Treatment Planning

Before Invisalign is determined to be appropriate for you, our trained and certified orthodontists at Ortho Clinic in Woodbury will have to perform a comprehensive examination. If this system is right for you, a 3D image will be created and sent to a lab to generate custom-made aligners for your treatment. The aligners are so clear that they will be barely noticeable to others and are also removable to allow for normal eating, brushing and flossing. They are more comfortable than other types of braces due to lighter pressure on teeth. The aligners are worn for approximately two weeks, at which time they should be switched for a new set.


Maximizing Treatment

To obtain successful results with Invisalign, the custom aligners should be worn at least 20 hours a day. They can be removed to allow for eating and maintaining regular oral hygiene, but should be replaced immediately. A retainer will likely be used once treatment is complete to ensure that your teeth stay in their proper place.
